An investigation is underway after a dead dog was discovered on the roof of a business in Lively.

The Ontario SPCA said the dog was found on September 28. The body of the dog was in a garbage bag on the roof of a business on Regional Road 24, near Old Highway 17.

The dog is suspected to have been on the roof for upwards of a month, according to the SPCA.

“Our investigation at this time is to find out if this was an act of animal cruelty,” said Lynn Michaud, Ontario SPCA senior inspector.

“If you witnessed anything unusual in that area or have any information related to this situation, please come forward.”

The SPCA asks anyone with information to call an animal cruelty hotline at 310-SPCA (7722), or email cruelty@ospca.on.ca.
