Getting children to eat healthy isn’t easy these days for most parents.

Fussy kids take the easy way out at the table only eating what they like.

But now, the Sudbury and District Health Unit hopes to change that by offering kids to eat healthy and win prizes.

It’s called the 'Brightbites Elementary School Contest' Chantal Belanger, a registered dietitian with the health unit, explains how the program works.

"Schools can sign up and register, then kids can earn badges which gives them points. All revolving around nutritious activities."

Belanger says while this began in September, it’s not too late to get a school registered with a deadline of December 22nd.
