Police officials say an investigation has revealed a fire at a housing complex in Sudbury earlier this week was an arson.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service said it will release more details when the investigation is completed.

The blaze broke out on Tuesday afternoon at triplex on Bruyere Street, just off of Morin Avenue, in the Flour Mill area.

Fire officials said it started in the lower unit. All of the tenants made it out of the home safely.

Damage is pegged anywhere between $250,000 to $300,000.

The fire displaced eight people who lived in the building.
