Claude Sharma is a videojournalist with CTV News Northern Ontario in Sudbury.
Claude knew at a very young age he wanted to go into broadcasting after watching TSN Sportsdesk every morning growing up.
Born and raised in Stoney Creek, Claude got his start in broadcasting at CHCH while in college at Mohawk where he studied journalism. After graduating, Claude came to Northern Ontario to work for a cable station in North Bay. This is where finessed his videography and editing skills.
After four years of working in cable, Claude joined CTV News in the spring of 2012. He started in Timmins where he quickly gained respect for his versatility in reporting. An avid sports fan, Claude jumped at the opportunity to cover the return of OHL hockey to North Bay when the opportunity presented itself in the fall of 2013. He says he enjoys the mix of covering sports and news in the Nipissing area.
When not covering sports, Claude can be found watching them - particularly wrestling.
If you’re wondering about Claude’s unique name, his Mother is Quebecoise while his father is a first generation immigrant from India. Despite being from Southern Ontario, Claude says he has fallen in love with the north.
